So, I've noticed there are a lot of Russians coming to visit

My page that is. I have to admit, I'm not a particularly active blogger, and it's usually not the sort of stuff I think people would want to hear. So imagine my surprise upon learning that nearly 80 Russians visited my page through searching for me on yandex.ru, from a link to my blood magick post. So I went to google, and asked "Why are Russians interested in blood magick?", not because I thought there was a reason, just bored late at night. Imagine my horror upon finding out there was a gang in Russia called 'Blood magic' http://ionglobaltrends.blogspot.com/2009/04/russia-blood-magic-teenage-gang.html .... yeah, hope I'm not being associated with that.

I've decided I'm pro-choice

Well, I always have been, but I only just found out that's what it's called.
My argument is simple. Pro-lifers say women should have their baby regardless of whether they were raped, the child is ill, they can't afford more kids etc. Basically, they say let nature take its course. Then I say, if you're going to do that, you need to accept that there will be mothers who reject their children, like animals do, and that there will be problems, and infants will die, and you should let them as you let nature take its course. Choosing to abort an unhealthy or unwanted baby saves so much heartache, money and, most importantly, lives. Bit like the foxhuntng argument, management rather than nature's boom and bust or man's culling is better all round.

Blood Magick

Easily the most powerful form of magick after sacrifice magick, blood magick doesn't require something to die, as sacrifice magick does (ie, sacrificing a live creature. For a vegetarian, this may be setting fire to a plant, whilst it's alive... ok, I'll shush now) which is always useful when you need a powerful spell in a hurry. It's so powerful, when I had a rather severe nose bleed, and I caught the blood in my hand, when I flicked the blood in the sink and said "Set, bring a storm". That night there was a thunderstorm that spread from where I live to my best friend 38km away. This is no trifling thing, but at the same time, power is there to be used, not shied away from in fear. People often make the mistake of thinking the ancient peoples of the world had no idea that blood magick is "just as good" as sacrifice magick, and were just barbarians. This is ignorance on the part of modern people. They knew what they were doing and why they were doing it. However, sacrifice magick is largely unnecessary in modern life, we have houses to shelter from the worst weather, shops for the famine and piped water for the droughts. And the other purposes they used such sacrifice for, most of us will either never now, or never want to know.
For my part, I use blood magick, (my own blood, usually from accidents, not cutting or pricking myself, far too squeamish for that XD ) to further my own skills and powers, but irregularly, because it's rather draining on concentration, no other reason.
Women also have an extra magick use, and that's the menstrual blood. I wouldn't suggest feeding it to lovers to bind them to you, as I've read before (charming practice that DX), but it can be caught on sanitary pads, dried and used in spells, though with great care taken towards hygiene. Best to be contained within an item, such as clay, to provide power without being exposed to being touched, as even energy wielders are not immune to bacterial infection from such a ready supply of protein. Menstrual blood is highly potent, more so than normal blood, as it's the lining that would have sheltered new life, and is therefore more energy rich, as there are more nutrients. Being linked with many lunar goddesses, the sea, mother goddesses and all round fertility and prosperity, it's highly useful. Menstrual blood also allows for the mixing of blood magick and sex magick, though on this I have no experience to share.
That's all for tonight, g'bai :D

Have to say I'm sick to the back teeth of being called a Wiccan

Or being associated with Wicca. People who are Wiccan often don't do their research on various historical references, or make up entirely new mythos and claim it's the original. I'm not overly fond of "neo-pagans" in general (except when they're actually trying to re-create it and class themselves as that anyway, bit odd but meh). The amount of crap I've heard spouted by these people is ridiculous, including trying to rewrite Set as Satan, saying Wicca is "good", "pure" and "light-based", to which I will reply stop bringing your good and evil crap from the Bible over, and the "Witch's" Rede, is a loada rubbish, about "that what you send out returns upon you threefold" Fuck off, no it doesn't. Common sense tells you that. Saying Anubis is the king of the underworld is another annoyance, when HE'S NOT, HE GUIDES PEOPLE WITH HORUS AND JUDGES HEARTS AND IS GOD OF EMBALMING AND TRAVEL (amongst other things) OSIRIS is the king of the afterlife.
Also, being anti-every-other-effing religion-apart-from-atheism is ridiculous, when if you were truly some "enlightened" individual, you could pray anywhere, yes anywhere, in a church, in a mosque, in a synagogue, in a Hindu temple. etc, adopting whatever customs for the praying as the path to god may vary BUT IT'S THE SAME GOD. I am sick to death of seeing car signs about "Oh, my gods out number your God" SO WHAT? If you understood anything about the ancient religions you're butchering, you'd understand that most of these religions have one God who created everything, and many gods who aid humans day to day, usually created by this creator God, equivalent to the one God, many angels system seen in the three Abrahamic religions.
All of this is basically why I don't share my beliefs in the gods with anyone, because they will immediately launch off into rubbish they've heard somewhere or do the opposite and think I'm crazy for believing I can change the world with my mind and magick. Nor do I like referring to myself as pagan or witch anymore. Witch should be a word that evokes power, whether fear, curiosity, pride or anger. Now it's just an embarassment. I feel like I'm associating myself with thirteen year olds who know nothing and aren't trying to correct that, just want to threaten some girl at school with hexes. I'm half tempted to use the word sorceress, priestess, even mage, wizard or summoner. By the gods, even geomancer is sounding better (no offence to geomancers, just it sounds like a job from Final Fantasy).
I tell you what, I'd be a lot more tolerant if I could watch a YouTube video of "pagan" music and actually be able to read the comments. I don't anymore, because all the rubbish spouted on there does my head in, with them all shoving their opinions down each other's throats, whereas I'm safe on here because you lot only read this if you click on the link and want to read it. /rant

Archaeologists are idiots

And narrowminded ones at that. They seem to follow the principle of make a theory, then make the evidence fit, when it should be the other way round. And they just assumed that Egypt was north and south, with no major cities in between. What utter tosh! Four million people lived in Egypt in the time of Ramoses II, Where did they think they lived?! Obtuse people. And to think. I'll be studying Archaeology at university next year >:|
And the idea that humans have only lived in cities for the past few thousand years is absolutely ludicrous. Just because the evidence has rotted or been scavenged, doesn't mean it never existed. Similarly, why wouldn't people travel about? Grooved wear has been found in Egypt and England, why couldn't they travel? Along with the Southern American Egyptian pots. Narrow-minded fools. Do they honestly think a civilization that built the pyramids couldn't build a city and irrigation in the desert?!
UGH!
